Bollinger's History

When C.W. Bollinger opened his one-man insurance agency in 1933, he could not have foreseen its growth into one of the largest privately held insurance firms in the United States. In the decades since our inception, Bollinger has merged or acquired many of other quality agencies, some dating back to the 1800s.

We are proud of the histories and achievements of these agencies that have come together under Bollinger. Some highlights from the last century include:

1946 - Pioneers student and athletic insurance in New Jersey.

1963 - Sells amateur sports insurance nationwide.

1983 - Starts golf and country club insurance program.

1992 - Adopts ESOP and becomes an employee-owned company.

1994 - Consolidates all operations to headquarters in Short Hills, NJ.

2000 - Establishes branch offices in Princeton, NJ and New York, NY.

2003 - Premium revenues exceed $520 million.

2005 - Consolidates all South Jersey offices to state-of-the-art facility in Moorestown.

2006 - Ranked #9 as one of New Jersey's Finest Companies, an awards program honoring the
State's 50 fastest growing companies

2006 - Establishes a branch office in Philadelphia.

2007 - Opens new branch office in Vineland, NJ.

2007 - For the third consecutive year, named one of the "Best Places to Work in New Jersey".

2008 - With 2007 premium volume exceeding $840 Million, ranked as the nation's 19th largest insurance agency.

2008 - Ranked as the nation's 12th most productive broker
